Arbor Creek Middle School

RYLON GUIDRY

Mr. Rylon Guidry is the Head Band Director at Arbor Creek Middle School in Lewisville ISD where he will be teaching the beginner woodwind classes, the Honors Band and will assist with the Symphonic & Concert Bands. Mr. Guidry previously was head director at Lake Highlands Junior High in Richardson ISD from 2010 to 2013; coming from McKinney ISD where he had been teaching since 2007 and serving as the Associate Band Director at McKinney Boyd High School. Under his direction the McKinney Boyd Symphonic Band I was awarded 1st divisions in numerous music festivals and UIL Concert and Sight-reading competitions. The McKinney Boyd Bronco Marching Band received only unanimous first division ratings at UIL and was a finalist in many festivals including UIL Area contest, as well as being named the 2009 Grand Champions of the Plano East Marching Invitational. Under Mr. Guidry’s direction, the Lake Highlands Junior High band program grew from under 200 to over 300 students. The Concert Band (2nd band) received Sweepstakes at UIL for the first time in over 20 years and the Symphonic Band (top band) received only unanimous first divisions at UIL and other local festivals including Best In Class at the Beach Within Reach festival. Mr. Guidry is a magna cum laude graduate of the University Of Houston Moores School Of Music. While at the Moores School of Music, Mr. Guidry studied instrumental methods with John Benzer and studied saxophone with Dr. Karen Wylie. He also served as Principal Saxophonist in the University of Houston Wind Ensemble under the direction of Mr. Tom Bennett. Mr. Guidry was also a four-year member of the Spirit of Houston Cougar Marching Band under the direction of David Bertman. Before graduating Mr. Guidry student taught at Aragon Middle School and Langham Creek High School in the Cypress Fairbanks ISD. His professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Bandmasters Association and the Texas Music Adjudicators Association. Mr. Guidry and his wife Katie live in west Plano and love to go out to eat and be around their friends. Mrs. Guidry, a former flute player, works at the Levi Strauss corporate office in Frisco. Mr. Guidry is thrilled to join the Hebron Band cluster and the Arbor Creek Middle School community!

SARAH DEMPSKY
Ms. Sarah Dempsky is the  assistant band director at Arbor Creek Middle School where she will be starting her first year of teaching. Her responsibilities include directing the Symphonic and Concert bands, assisting with the Honors Band, and teaching all of the beginner brass classes. A native of Plano, TX, Ms. Dempsky graduated from Plano East Senior High School and her primary instrument is euphonium. She received her Bachelors of Music Education from Baylor University and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Ms. Dempsky completed her student teaching in LISD with the Lewisville High School band cluster. While at Baylor, Ms. Dempsky was a very dedicated member of the Golden Wave Band serving as a two year baritone section leader and as a drum major her senior year. She was also involved with the Courtside Players pep band and the Phi Xi chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon, a professional music fraternity. She was a four year member of the Baylor Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Eric Wilson, playing in many tours around Texas including the recent performance at the 2012 TMEA Convention in San Antonio. Her professional affiliations include Mu Phi Epsilon, Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, National Association for Music Education, and the International Tuba Euphonium Association. Ms. Dempsky is a very spirited Baylor fan and loves watching football. She is excited to join the Arbor Creek band and to continue teaching in LISD.

Creek Valley Middle School

KIM COOLEY
Kim Cooley is Director of Bands at Creek Valley Middle School.  Her responsibilities include: directing Honor Winds, assisting the Symphonic and Concert Bands and teaching beginning flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet and saxophone classes. This year, under the direction of Mrs. Cooley, the Honor Winds was awarded Superior ratings at UIL and Peak Festivals.  The Honor Winds was also awarded Best In Class and Most Outstanding Middle School Band at Peak Festivals. Mrs. Cooley came to Creek Valley from Arbor Creek, where she was the Assistant Director of Bands for ten years.  The Symphonic Band under Mrs. Cooley was awarded numerous 1st divisions and Sweepstakes trophies. The 05-06, 06-07, 07-08, 09-10, and 10-11 Symphonic Bands were awarded "Best In Class" at the Springfest Music Festivals. Prior to her appointment she was a graduate assistant and conductor of the University Wind Ensemble at West Texas A&M, under Dr. Gary Garner, where she earned her bachelor and masters degree.  Her professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association and Texas Bandmasters Association.

AARON LEVINE
Aaron Levine is the Assistant Director of Bands at Creek Valley Middle School.  He directs the Symphonic Band and assists with the Honors Winds and Concert Band.  He also teaches beginning trumpet, French horn, trombone, and low brass classes. Mr. Levine comes from the University of Texas – Arlington, where he received a Bachelor of Music.  White attending UT – Arlington, Mr. Levine performed with the UT – Arlington Symphony Orchestra, Wind Symphony, jazz bands and combos, and the UTA Marching Band.  He also marched in the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps for four years, from 2006 to 2009, and served in the Corps’ administration for two years.  Mr. Levine completed his student teaching at North Oaks Middle School and Haltom High School in Birdville ISD. His professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and Phi Mu Alpha Professional Music Fraternity.   In his spare time, Mr. Levine enjoys running, cooking (eating) and watching sports.  He is very excited to be working with the Creek Valley Band and the Hebron cluster!

Killian Middle School

Rob Chilton

Mr. Rob Chilton is the Director of Bands at Killian Middle School. Prior to his appointment in Lewisville ISD, Mr. Chilton served as the Director of Bands at Myers Middle School in Denton ISD since the school's opening in 2013.  Before that he was the Associate Director at Rice Middle School in Plano ISD from 2007-2013. Bands under his direction have consistently earned UIL "Sweepstakes" awards and have been named "Best in Class" and "Most Outstanding Band" at various north Texas music festivals.

Most recently, Mr. Chilton was named Southern Methodist University's 2014 Young Music Educator of the Year.  In 2007, Mr. Chilton was named Rice Middle School's Beginning Teacher of the Year.  Mr. Chilton has presented as a clinician for the Texas Bandmasters Association in 2007 and 2009, the Texas Music Educator's Association in 2010, and the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic in 2010.  Mr. Chilton continues to serve as a trusted adjudicator and clinician in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Mr. Chilton holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Methodist University where he had the opportunity to study music education under the tutelage of Lynne Jackson and Brian Merrill. Mr. Chilton also studied oboe performance with Eric Barr and Erin Hannigan, both former and current Principal Oboists in the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.

Mr. Chilton's professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and the Texas Music Adjudicator's Association.  Outside of teaching, Mr. Chilton can be seen performing as an oboist in the Lone Star Wind Orchestra, a Dallas-based professional wind band under the direction of Eugene Corporon.  He and his wife currently reside in Carrollton and enjoy spending time with family and traveling.  Mr. Chilton is excited about the Killian Band and is enjoying continuing the wonderful tradition of success at KMS! 

Brittany Yanniello
Mrs. Brittany Yanniello serves as the Assistant Band Director of the Killian Middle School Bands.  Before coming to Killian, Mrs. Yanniello was the Assistant Director at Richardson North Junior High in Richardson ISD where she taught beginning brass and woodwind classes as well as conducted the Concert and Intermediate Bands.  While at Richardson North JH, her bands received superior and excellent ratings in contests and festivals.

She hails from Plymouth, Michigan where she graduated from Plymouth-Canton Educational Park.  Mrs. Yanniello traveled to Texas to attend Sam Houston State University to study music education.  While at SHSU, Mrs. Yanniello played horn in the Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Matthew McInturf and was a drum major for the Bearkat Marching Band.  Her horn playing took her to the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps in 2004 and eventually the Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps in 2007 and 2008 where she served as the drum major during her final season.  She graduated cum laude from the University of North Texas earning a degree in music education.  While at UNT, she performed in the Brass Band under Dr. Brian Bowman, the Symphonic Band under Dennis Fisher, and student-taught with the Argyle Independent School District.

Mrs. Yanniello is an active clinician and judge for various area drum major activities.  She is excited to be a part of the 2015-2016 preparation of the Hebron Band's field production by helping with marching camps.  She is the Vice President of Programs for the Sigma Alpha Iota Denton Alumni Chapter, a professional music fraternity for women.  Her professional affiliations include the Texas Bandmasters Association, Texas Music Educators Association, and Sigma Alpha Iota.  She currently resides in Carrollton with her husband and also fellow UNT alumni, Andre Yanniello and their three-year-old daughter Aria, who aspires to someday play tuba in the band!
