Hebron High School is comprised of both a senior high and a freshman center serving approximately 2,900 students. The school is a part of the Lewisville Independent School District and serves students from the communities of Carrollton, Lewisville, Frisco and Plano. The Hebron High School Band is a consistent UIL Sweepstakes and “Best in Class” Award winner. The 300
member Hebron Marching Band is comprised of 4 concert bands, the colorguard,
and percussion section. There are typically 4 drum majors, 7 band
officers and about 30 other student leaders. This ensemble has been
a consistent UIL sweepstakes award winner since the opening of the school in
1999. In 2012 and 2014, the ensemble was awarded the silver medal at
the UIL State Marching Contest. The Hebron Band is also a consistent
Bands of America Regional and Super Regional finalist, most recently being
named the 2013 and 2014 DFW Regional Champion and the 2013 San Antonio Super
Regional silver medalist. In 2010, the Hebron Marching Band was
awarded the John Philip Sousa Foundations Sudler Shield Award recognizing
“Marching Bands of World Class Excellence”. The students in the ensemble pride
themselves in striving for the same musical achievement in the concert bands as
they do outside on the move.
In
conjunction with the Marching Band, the Wind Symphony has been a consistent UIL
Sweepstakes Award recipient. This ensemble was recognized as the
Texas Music Educators Association 5A Honor Band for 2010-2011, and also
performed at the 64th Annual Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic
in Chicago in 2010. The Hebron Wind Symphony was awarded the
prestigious Sudler Flag of Honor from the John Philip Sousa Foundation in the
spring of 2012, and has also been a Mark of Excellence National Winner from
2008-2012.
